Kurikoan Taiyaki, Tokyo

Aujourd’hui je vais vous donner l’adresse d’un endroit très sympa où l’on peut acheter des Taiyaki, près de Iidabashi à Tokyo.

Today, I’m gonna give you the location of a very nice place to grab some Taiyaki near Iidabashi, in Tokyo.

Un taiyaki est une pâtisserie japonaise en forme de daurade, fait d’une pâte croustillante proche de la pâte à gaufres, et fourré, généralement, à l’anko (pâte de haricots rouges sucrés).

A taiyaki is a Japanese pastry shaped like a sea bream, made with a crunchy dough close to a waffle’s dough and generally stuffed with anko (sweet red beans’ dough).

Dans ce magasin, il y a plusieurs versions de taiyaki, comme celle à la crème pâtissière ou encore celle à l’anko et à la châtaigne. Vous pouvez aussi prendre un thé au fond du petit magasin et déguster vos taiyaki.

In this shop, there are several versions of taiyaki, for instance one with custard, or another with anko and chestnut. You can also have a cup of tea at the back of the small shop and try out your taiyaki.

J’ai essayé celui à la châtaigne et à l’anko. J’ai beaucoup aimé, il est fait avec la pâte d’anko classique, et quelques morceaux de châtaigne, cela se marie très bien ensemble.

I tried the one with chestnut and anko. I really liked it, it is made with clasic anko paste and a few pieces of chestnut, it goes along very well.

Un taiyaki n’est pas trop cher, comme vous le voyez, j’ai payé environ 200 yens (1,5€) pour chaque. De plus, ils sont faits sous vos yeux derrière la caisse et sont généralement encore chauds lorsqu’on les achète.
C’est une chaîne de magasins qui provient de Yokohama. Il y en a plusieurs dans Tokyo, mais l’adresse de celui à Iidabashi est la suivante :

2-6 Kagurazaka, Shinjuku-ku

Si vous tapez l’adresse en japonais (東京都新宿区神楽坂2-6), vous la trouverez sur Google Maps. Attention, Google Maps nomme la rue Waseda Dori, mais sur mon guide, comme sur l’adresse, il semble que le nom correct soit Kagurazaka-dori (je suis un peu perdue).

A taiyaki is not very exensive. As you can see, I paid around 200 yens for each (around 1,5€). Furthermore, there are made in front of you, behind the cashier, and most of the time, they are still warm when you buy them. It is a chain from Yokohama and they have many places in Tokyo, but the place I have been to in Iidabashi is this one:

2-6 Kagurazaka, Shinjuku-ku

If you type the address in Japanese (東京都新宿区神楽坂2-6), you will find it on Google Maps. Be careful, Google Maps is naming the street as Waseda-dori, but on my guide book, as well as on the addresse, it seems that the correct name is Kagurazaka-dori (I am kinda lost).
